Automate SMS Messaging in Pardot
Pardot is a marketing automation software from Salesforce that provides email automation and lead management along with lead nurturing and scoring. In addition to these, it also helps users perform a host of other common marketing activities like create digital marketing campaigns, social marketing, Landing Page marketing, Search Engine Optimization and so on.
The Pardot platform can be integrated with SMS-Magic. This helps users send automated messages against a lead generation action by leveraging the SMS on Workflow.
Step 1: Create an XML Configuration
As part of the integration process the first step you need to create an XML configuration using the SMS on Workflow add-on package. Follow the given procedure to configure the XML.
1. Log in to SMS-Magic Converse and switch to the Classic version.
2. Go to “SMS on workflow” addon from the app drop-down on the top-right corner in your org.
3. Click New SMS Workflow. The Create New Configuration for SMS Workflow page appears.
4. Under Lead object, select the object.
5. Under Recipient Type, select Mobile phone field if you wish to send SMS to the Lead.
6. Under Available Recipients, select the relevant field (For example, Home Phone) that contains the contact number and move it to the Selected Recipients column.
7. Choose the relevant values for the following fields:
- Name
- Sender ID
- Template
8. Click Create. A new XML will be created.
9. Copy the XML configuration name to be used in the subsequent step.
Step 2: Configure XML Configuration Rule in Pardot
In Pardot you need to configure the XML configuration name within a specific form that has been created to mark a customer behavior. You will also need to create a salesforce task, within that form, that will trigger the task related to this behavior.
1. Log in to Pardot and select the Pardot Marketing form created to track customer behavior.
2. Under the Name tab, add the relevant details.
3. Click on the Fields tab. The Form Fields Preview tabbed page appears.
4. Under Phone fields, configure the field to trigger an SMS. For example, Phone
5. Under Completion Actions add the text content.
6. Click to create a new salesforce task. The Task creation fields appear.
7. Type a subject for the task. For example, SMS nurture.
8. Under the Comments section, paste the XML configuration Name you copied from the previous step.
9. Click Confirm and save. The completed form page appears.
