Issue Scenario<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ensure SMS History visibility for specific user groups by creating new Sharing Setting Rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Solution<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Assign a specific Sender Id, SMS History and Incoming SMS records to a limited number of users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1<\/strong>: Create a group of all the users who are assigned a specific sender ID and limited access to SMS History and Incoming SMS records based on your requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

1.Under Setup<\/strong> search for Public Groups<\/strong> in the Quick Find Search<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.Click New<\/strong> to create a new group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.Type a name for the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.Search the users you wish to add to the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.Select the Users<\/strong> and click  to move them from Available Members<\/strong> list to Selected Members<\/strong> list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.Click\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: <\/strong>Change the Sender ID to Private.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

1.Under Setup<\/strong> search for Sharing Settings<\/strong> in the Quick Find<\/strong> search box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.Under Sharing Settings<\/strong>, click Edit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.Search SMS Sender ID <\/strong>(try using Ctrl + F), SMS History and Incoming SMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.Select Private<\/strong> in the picklist for all three objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.Click Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: <\/strong>Create a New SMS Sender ID Sharing Rule<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

1.On the Sharing Settings<\/strong> page, scroll down to the section on SMS SenderId Sharing Rules<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.Click\u00a0New<\/strong>. The SMS Sender ID Sharing Rule page appears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.Add a Label<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.Under Select your Rule Type<\/strong> click the Based on Criteria <\/strong>option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.Under Select which Records to be Shared, <\/strong>define the following criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

i.Under Field<\/strong> click senderid<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ii.Under Operator<\/strong> click equals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

iii.Under Value<\/strong> provide the Sender ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.Under Select the users to share with<\/strong>, select public group in first field and then select the group you created earlier (in Step 1<\/strong> above) in the adjacent field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.Under Select the level of Access for the Users<\/strong>, select Read Only<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.Click\u00a0Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nYou can also create new SMS History Sharing Rules and Incoming SMS Sharing Rules with your desired criteria depending on the record owner.\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Step 4: <\/strong>Update User Profiles<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

1.View the profiles of all the users to whom you are assigning specific sender ID’s, SMS History and Incoming SMS sharing rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.On their individual profile pages, click\u00a0Edit<\/strong>. The profile page appears as shown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.Under Custom Object permissions<\/strong>, look for SMS SenderIds<\/strong>, SMS Sender ID profile<\/strong> map , SMS History<\/strong>, Incoming SMS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.Clear all selections to remove the View all<\/strong> and Modify all<\/strong> access from these profiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
