{"id":3952,"date":"2019-10-31T11:10:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-31T11:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.txtbox.in\/docs\/salesforce\/?post_type=lsvr_kba&#038;p=3952"},"modified":"2020-04-24T05:19:05","modified_gmt":"2020-04-24T05:19:05","slug":"sms-history-visibility-with-sharing-setting-rules","status":"publish","type":"lsvr_kba","link":"https:\/\/staging.txtbox.in\/docs\/salesforce\/knowledge-base\/sms-history-visibility-with-sharing-setting-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"SMS History Visibility with Sharing Setting Rules"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Issue Scenario<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure SMS History visibility for specific user groups by creating new Sharing Setting Rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Solution<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Assign a specific Sender Id, SMS History and Incoming SMS records to a limited number of users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong>: Create a group of all the users who are assigned a specific sender ID and limited access to SMS History and Incoming SMS records based on your requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>1.Under&nbsp;<strong>Setup<\/strong>&nbsp;search for&nbsp;<strong>Public Groups<\/strong>&nbsp;in the&nbsp;<strong>Quick Find Search<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.Click&nbsp;<strong>New<\/strong>&nbsp;to create a new group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.Type a name for the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.Search the users you wish to add to the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.Select the&nbsp;<strong>Users<\/strong>&nbsp;and click&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.txtbox.in\/docs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/10\/icon_move_arrow.jpg\">&nbsp;to move them from&nbsp;<strong>Available Members<\/strong>&nbsp;list to&nbsp;<strong>Selected Members<\/strong>&nbsp;list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.Click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2: <\/strong>Change the Sender ID to Private.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>1.Under&nbsp;<strong>Setup<\/strong>&nbsp;search for&nbsp;<strong>Sharing Settings<\/strong>&nbsp;in the&nbsp;<strong>Quick Find<\/strong>&nbsp;search box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.Under&nbsp;<strong>Sharing Settings<\/strong>, click&nbsp;<strong>Edit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.Search&nbsp;<strong>SMS Sender ID&nbsp;<\/strong>(try using Ctrl + F), SMS History and Incoming SMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.Select&nbsp;<strong>Private<\/strong>&nbsp;in the picklist for all three objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.Click&nbsp;<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3: <\/strong>Create a New SMS Sender ID Sharing Rule<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>1.On the&nbsp;<strong>Sharing Settings<\/strong>&nbsp;page, scroll down to the section on&nbsp;<strong>SMS SenderId Sharing Rules<\/strong>&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.Click\u00a0<strong>New<\/strong>. The SMS Sender ID Sharing Rule page appears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"815\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.txtbox.in\/docs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/10\/sms_senderid-1024x815.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3955\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.txtbox.in\/docs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/10\/sms_senderid-1024x815.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/staging.txtbox.in\/docs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/10\/sms_senderid-300x239.jpg 300w, https:\/\/staging.txtbox.in\/docs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/10\/sms_senderid-768x611.jpg 768w, https:\/\/staging.txtbox.in\/docs\/salesforce\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/10\/sms_senderid.jpg 1112w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>3.Add a&nbsp;<strong>Label<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.Under&nbsp;<strong>Select your Rule Type<\/strong>&nbsp;click the&nbsp;<strong>Based on Criteria&nbsp;<\/strong>option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.Under&nbsp;<strong>Select which Records to be Shared,&nbsp;<\/strong>define the following criteria<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>i.Under&nbsp;<strong>Field<\/strong>&nbsp;click&nbsp;<strong>senderid<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ii.Under&nbsp;<strong>Operator<\/strong>&nbsp;click&nbsp;<strong>equals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>iii.Under&nbsp;<strong>Value<\/strong>&nbsp;provide the Sender ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.Under&nbsp;<strong>Select the users to share with<\/strong>, select public group in first field and then select the group you created earlier (in&nbsp;<strong>Step 1<\/strong>&nbsp;above) in the adjacent field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.Under&nbsp;<strong>Select the level of Access for the Users<\/strong>, select&nbsp;<strong>Read Only<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.Click\u00a0<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"c-alert-message\">\nYou can also create new SMS History Sharing Rules and Incoming SMS Sharing Rules with your desired criteria depending on the record owner.\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4: <\/strong>Update User Profiles<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>1.View the profiles of all the users to whom you are assigning specific sender ID&#8217;s, SMS History and Incoming SMS sharing rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.On their individual profile pages, click\u00a0<strong>Edit<\/strong>.
