Every text messaging initiative geared to drive sales typically would begin with a Bulk messaging activity. You may need to address a group of people within a geographic region or community and send out a bulk message to all or a few of them from the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The messages can be text (SMS) or Multimedia (MMS) based and follow the same mechanisms to set up and send as a single SMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For sending MMS from Salesforce, make sure that your Org is setup for MMS. Contact your Org admin for the details.<\/div><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bulk Messaging can be done manually as well as in an automated way. See Create and Schedule Bulk Message Campaigns<\/a> for more information about automated bulk messaging.

Bulk messages from a List<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

You can send the bulk messages from the List View of the Salesforce for Contacts or Leads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, you can send bulk messages from Campaign Manager, Salesforce Campaign, and Reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To send bulk messages from the List View of Salesforce:
<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  1. On the Salesforce Home page, click .<\/li>\n
  2. Click the object name. The object record list appears.<\/li>\n
    Under Contacts click and then select All Contacts<\/b> from the drop-down menu to view the complete contact record list.<\/div>\n
  3. Select multiple records from the list.<\/li>\n
  4. Click on the top right corner and then click Send Bulk SMS<\/b>. The Converse Apps\/Send Bulk SMS<\/b> page appears.<\/li>\n
    Prior to selecting records to whom you wish to send the SMS, ensure that valid phone numbers are displayed in the phone fields. Moreover, the phone fields selected for the record should be the same ones that are configured in the message object settings. For example, if you select mobile as a phone field for the record, the same should also be configured in the message settings with a valid phone number as its value.
    Contact your System Administrator for more details on the phone fields that have been configured for that record.<\/div>\n\n
  5. Under Sender ID<\/b>, select the ID from which you want to send the SMS.<\/li>\n
  6. Under Use Template<\/b> select from the list of default templates.<\/li>\n
  7. Under Message Text<\/b>, type the message you want to send as the SMS message. This field is already populated if you select a predefined template in the previous step.<\/li>\n
  8. Click Add to Converse App<\/b> to add the SMS campaign to your converse apps and track its progress.<\/li>

    This is an optional step and will be necessary only if you wish to track the campaign in the relevant Converse App.
     
    Create Converse Apps for the same object to which you are sending bulk messages in order to track them through the app. Also, ensure that the apps display an active status prior to associating them with the bulk messages.<\/div>\n

  9. Select the Converse App name in which you want to track the progress of this campaign.<\/li>\n
  10. Click Continue<\/b>. You return to the Converse Apps\/Send Bulk SMS page.<\/li>\n
  11. Click Send<\/b>.<\/li>\n
